Pharmacy Technician
About The Position
This position involves knowledge of pharmaceutical operations and dispensing medicines, as well as principles of customer service, including needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction evaluation. The role requires the ability to read and understand written information, and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The Pharmacy Technician will work under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager in medication distribution, providing pharmacy and nursing documents, purchasing medication, packaging medication, and offering clerical assistance to the department.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Virginia Pharmacy Technician registration is required
Nice To Haves
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is preferred
- Long-term care experience a plus
