About The Position

The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a respected hospital in Las Vegas, NM and is looking for a dedicated Certified Pharmacy Technician to join the hospital pharmacy team and play a vital role in delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate care to patients when they need it most. We’re looking for someone dependable, organized, and passionate about supporting patient wellness through excellence in pharmacy services. This role is based in a hospital setting and may include rotating shifts, weekends, and holiday coverage as needed. Working under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will assist with medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management to support safe, accurate, and efficient patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Current New Mexico Pharmacy Technician license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Pharmacy Technician training program preferred
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
  • Minimum one year of previous hospital or clinical pharmacy experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a busy healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and medication names

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with preparing, packaging, and dispensing medications
  • Support safe and timely medication delivery throughout the hospital (to nursing units and other departments as needed)
  • Maintain accurate medication records, labeling, and storage procedures
  • Help manage pharmacy inventory (including ordering and receiving), supplies, and medication restocking
  • Compound sterile and non – sterile preparations following safety and compliance standards
  • Support insurance processing and prior authorizations as directed by the Pharmacist
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy automation systems and equipment efficiently
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support to patients, nurses, physicians, and healthcare staff.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and state/federal regulations
