Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Pharmacy Technician Trainee License from the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy prior to start date; must obtain the required criminal records check by submitting fingerprints to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and FBI via a WebCheck provider located in Ohio to become licensed prior to starting.
- Typing, interpersonal skills, and some computer knowledge.

Responsibilities
- On-the-job completion of a comprehensive online training course with over 100 credit hours, a midterm exam, and a final exam.
- Completion of the PTCE within the first 9 months of employment.
- Communicate with pharmacists, physicians, nursing staff, and other pharmacy technicians to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Appropriately initiate billing functions such as debiting and crediting.
- Provide guidance and training to new pharmacy staff as needed.
- Perform nursing unit and medication storage audits assigned by pharmacy supervisor.
- Fill and deliver medications in a timely and efficient manner.
- Prepare sterile products following all necessary regulations and precautions including USP 797.
- Repackage pharmaceuticals as needed.
- Manage department and unit inventory by anticipating medication needs, placing medication orders, and managing outdated medications.
- Pyxis activities include restocking, new loads, expiration date checking, inventory management, and troubleshooting as required.
- Fill and deliver medication and physician orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform additional duties as required by the pharmacy director and pharmacy supervisor.
- Assume all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
