About The Position

The Department of Pharmacy at Chandler Regional is a full-service pharmacy providing comprehensive progressive pharmaceutical care services to neonatal pediatric adult and geriatric patients from admission to discharge and on an outpatient basis through our emergency and ambulatory care services. Pharmaceutical care services include but are not limited to appropriate accurate and timely dispensing of medications to patients sterile product preparation preparation of special pediatric dosages chemotherapy preparation antimicrobial stewardship support of the electronic medical record and bedside medication verification (bar coding) ongoing pharmaceutical education and participation in the care of the patient to promote safe and effective drug therapy. The Pharmacy Technician Trainee is responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in medication preparation, inventory management, and distribution, requiring extreme accuracy and attention to detail. The Pharmacy Technician Trainee has responsibility for assisting licensed Technicians with controlled substances management, meeting DEA, FDA, and state regulations, and has access to and manages medication storage areas using pharmacy automation. The Pharmacy Technician Trainee applies pharmacy knowledge and experience to identify variances and outliers in clinical practice to prevent medication errors. The Pharmacy Technician fields and triages calls and questions regarding medication distribution, assisting other caregivers within their scope of practice.

Requirements

  • HS/GED
  • AZ license as a pharmacy tech trainee.

Responsibilities
