About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our growing specialty pharmacy team. This position is responsible for preparing sterile compounded medications in accordance with USP standards, maintaining a cleanroom environment, and supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is organized, highly attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient safety. Previous sterile compounding experience is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated pharmacy technicians who are eager to learn and grow in a specialty pharmacy setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active Nevada Pharmacy Technician license and registration in good standing.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive compounding tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in a cleanroom environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of sterility, safety, and patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous sterile compounding experience in a pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of USP <797> and sterile compounding procedures.
  • Experience working in a specialty or compounding pharmacy is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
  • New graduates with a strong interest in sterile compounding are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sterile compounded medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in accordance with USP <797> and pharmacy policies.
  • Perform aseptic technique and maintain proper garbing and hand hygiene procedures.
  • Operate within cleanroom and anteroom environments while adhering to all sterility and safety protocols.
  • Accurately calculate, measure, and compound medications according to prescriptions and formulation records.
  • Maintain compounding logs, batch records, and documentation required for quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining adequate stock of compounding supplies and medications.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of compounding equipment and cleanroom facilities.
  • Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparing medications for dispensing and delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists and other team members regarding compounding workflow and patient needs.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
