About The Position

The inpatient pharmacy technician supports pharmacists in providing pharmacy services. The technician is responsible for packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service and maintaining pharmacy records. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Licensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) upon or within 18 months of hire
  • Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program
  • 3-6 months of sterile compounding experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.
  • Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
  • Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
  • Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
