Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • California Pharmacy Technician License
  • Certification by National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) within 6 months of hire
  • Certification by a national pharmacy technician certification board in sterile compounding preparation (CSPT) required within 1 year of hire
  • 2 years' pharmacy technician experience with 1 year sterile compounding

Nice To Haves

  • CPhT and CSPT
  • 5 years' experience preferred
  • 2 years compounding experience

Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, responsible for supporting pharmacy operations in the preparation, compounding, and distribution of medications for patient care.
  • This role specializes in sterile compounding, hazardous drug handling and compliance with USP <797>, <800> and institutional policies.
  • The IV specialist ensures medication accuracy, safety and timely delivery while collaborating closely with nurses and pharmacy personnel.
  • This position will provide technical leadership, training, quality assurance support, inventory management and workflow oversight to maintain optimal pharmacy operations and patient safety standards.
