About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician Revenue Integrity is responsible for assisting the Pharmacy Director with the day-to-day review of medication charges and access and operating of the 340B program as applicable, including maintenance, policy and procedure development, education, reporting, program enhancement, auditing, supply chain support and third party administrator duties. These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3+ years' experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of excel or tableau strongly preferred
  • 340B experience preferred
  • Applicant must be registered with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
  • 340B Apexus Advanced Operations Certification required within 12 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Reviews medication charges in the electronic medical record and works with stakeholders for issue resolution
  • Helps facilitate medication access, enrollment, maintenance, and patient assistance
  • Reviews 340B Program policies and procedures on an ongoing basis and offers contributions and changes to ensure continued 340B compliance
  • Develops and administers 340B compliance and quality assurance training to all relevant stakeholders and staff
  • Monitors for emerging trends and stays up to date with current 340B program rules and pending legislation
  • Maintains the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) data base
  • Performs audits on a scheduled basis, and reports up and resolves any reconciliation issues, including the triage of issues to a pharmacist when appropriate
  • In conjunction with information services, provides data, and reports as needed for program maintenance, performance assessment, and compliance assessment
  • Actively participates in the 340B oversight council
  • Enters manual invoices when needed
  • Maintains National Drug Codes (NDCs) and Charge Description Master (CDM) mapping as needed
  • Coordinates the purchasing and split of the orders and maintains the split billing software
  • In conjunction with the pharmacy buyer, assists with inventory management, procurement, and recalls when needed
  • Participates in and leads 340B quality improvement projects as needed
  • Attends required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services
  • Demonstrates a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care
