About The Position
Join our Shields team today! Shields Health Solutions is redefining patient care through specialty pharmacy. We’re hiring a Pharmacy Refill Technician to support the pharmacy team by ensuring accurate, timely filling and delivery of specialty medications. This role includes assisting patients through the refill process, handling both outbound and inbound calls, and helping maintain efficient pharmacy operations. Hybrid schedule: Remote Monday & Friday, Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM CST
Requirements
- State-registered (Mississippi) Pharmacy Technician
- 2+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong communication, organization, and tech skills
- Empathy, integrity, and a team-first mindset
- Solid computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for communication, documentation, and data management, as well as, navigating the internet and web-based platforms.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, knowledgeable assistance to patients, providers, and staff.
- Make outbound refill calls and process requests promptly.
- Answer and triage incoming pharmacy calls.
- Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists or clinicians.
- Coordinate medication refills and complete accurate data entry.
- Assist with claim adjudication and troubleshoot rejected claims.
