About The Position

Walgreens Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Technician Apprentices work in a patient-centric pharmacy environment, interacting with customers and building patient relationships. Walgreens provides an earn-while-you-learn training program recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor, with learning activities and on-the-job experience intended to prepare apprentices to become Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certified Pharmacy Technicians. The program provides a portable credential and supports career development in pharmacy care. Under a pharmacist’s direct supervision and in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and company policies, the role assists with pharmacy operations, prescription processing, customer service, inventory, clinical services, and other assigned department duties. The position uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. PTCB-certified technicians may also assist with and coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the use of pharmacy systems and registers. The role requires earning and maintaining PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state-required certification or registration, and attending requested training and continuing education. Compensation depends on factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, and experience. The role will remain open until filled.
