About The Position

Walgreens Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Technician Apprentices work in a patient-centric pharmacy environment, interacting with customers and building patient relationships. The apprenticeship provides an entry point into health care through an “earn while you learn” training program recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor. Courses, learning activities, resources, and on-the-job experience help participants develop the skills needed to pursue Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and advance in the pharmacy care industry. Under a pharmacist’s direct supervision and in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies, the role assists with pharmacy operations, prescription processing, customer service, inventory, and other Pharmacy Department duties. Technicians use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
