About The Position

Peoples Rx is a locally-owned, holistic compounding pharmacy that has served the Austin community for over 40 years. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with world-class pharmacists to provide personalized service to each customer. The ideal candidate can process a variety of prescriptions in a fast-paced, retail environment and maintains a positive attitude. Pharmacy Technicians work promptly, safely, and accurately to fill patient prescriptions while providing a unique customer experience. Part-time candidates must be available to work an average of 24 hours per week with consistent weekday availability during standard business hours.

Requirements

• Must have active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license
• Must reside in the greater Austin area (in-person role, variable locations)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong data entry skills with accuracy and efficiency
• Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
• Able to lift up to 30+ lbs and stand for extended periods (typically up to 8 hours)

Nice To Haves

• 6 months to 1 year of retail pharmacy experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Process and verify prescription orders (written/electronic)
• Accurately input prescription data into pharmacy software
• Answer phones and assist patients with questions
• Contact providers for prescription clarifications and refill authorizations
• Troubleshoot and resolve insurance claim issues
• Support pharmacists with packaging and labeling medications
• Help maintain inventory and place medication orders when directed
