About The Position

Works in a fast-paced production environment known as an automated Central Fill Pharmacy. Assist pharmacists in the accurate preparation and distribution of prescription medications. This role is part of the Hy-Vee Pharmacy Fulfillment Center team, contributing to the accurate and efficient dispensing of prescriptions. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working towards a licensed technician certification through a certified national program.
  • Ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, field of vision, and color vision.
  • Must be able to physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, reaching, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

  • Strong leadership skills; ability to assist other members of the department.
  • Must have the ability to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems; several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to do arithmetic calculations involving arithmetic, algebraic and geometric calculations
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, assisting in the preparation of accurate prescriptions.
  • Must be able to compose original correspondence; follow technical manuals; have increased contact with people; evaluate technical data.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of the customer’s private medical information according to the HIPAA act.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy clerk is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and facility policies.
  • Handles inquiries that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise and judgment.
  • Prepares and affixes labels to prescription containers.
  • Assists in adherence to quality assurance standards.
  • Gain complete understanding of Hy-Vee’s retail pharmacy operations and, offering avenues to better serve them.
  • Reports any medication errors to appropriate personnel.
  • Orders, checks-in, and stocks pharmacy supplies.
  • Maintains cleanliness of pharmacy and dispensing area.
  • Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
  • Adheres to all statutes and regulations pertaining to a non-certified pharmacy technician.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
  • Manually counts medication quantities and replenishes medication cells as needed.
  • Replaces empty medication cells and brings full cells to robots
  • Assists in stocking of pharmacy supplies
