About The Position
Regional West Health Services is an independent, integrated health care delivery system based in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They are actively looking for caring individuals to join the team as a Pharmacy Technician-Medication History. This role involves maintaining a good working knowledge of common outpatient medication names, doses, and dosage forms, prioritizing patients for interviews based on various requests or acuity, adapting to changes in workload and schedule, obtaining accurate home medication history through chart review, patient interviews, and phone calls to pharmacies and physician offices, and verifying patient allergy information to ensure complete documentation.
Requirements
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Have no drug related felony or misdemeanors
- Are a Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPhT)
- Will be asked to register with the State of Nebraska as a Pharmacy Technician prior to your start date.
- Successfully passing a pre-employment drug test and background checks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a good working knowledge of common outpatient medication names, doses, and dosage forms.
- Prioritize patients to interview with respect to physician request, pharmacist request, nurse request, or acuity of need.
- Adapt to changes in workload and schedule to meet patient needs.
- Obtain accurate home medication history by chart review, patient interview, and phone calls to retail pharmacies and physician offices if necessary.
- Verify patient allergy information and ensures complete documentation with regard to substance, allergy category, reaction description.
