Pharmacy Technician -Intake/Prescription Setup
About The Position
Join our team at Onco360 as an Intake/Prescription Setup Pharmacy Technician for our Specialty Pharmacy located in Scottsdale, AZ. We are looking for skilled candidates comfortable working in a high-volume pharmacy setting. This is a full-time position with Monday to Friday hours from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM MST. The starting salary is $24.00 per hour and up. This role is initially onsite with the potential to transition to remote work after completing onsite training. Onco360 Pharmacy is a unique oncology pharmacy model designed to serve the needs of community, oncology, and hematology physicians, patients, payers, and manufacturers.
Requirements
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and be flexible
- Good organizational skills and detail oriented
- Knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numeral), brand and generic names of medications and general pharmacy terminology
- Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently when inputting information
- Licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law
- Basic math and analytical skills
- Intermediate typing/keyboarding skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous Experience in Pharmacy
- Pharmacy Technician: 1+ years
- Pharmacy or healthcare-related knowledge
- Knowledge of pharmacy terminology including sig codes, and Roman numerals, brand/generic names of medication
- Pharmacy Technician State License/Registration (per State Board of Pharmacy)
- Independent worker
- Great time-management skills
Nice To Haves
- Pharmacy Technician: 3+ years
- Specialty pharmacy experience
- Certain States also require National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT via PTCB/NHA)
Responsibilities
- Creates patient profiles and processes orders in a timely manner from electronic prescription and fax queues
- Requests refill prescriptions as appropriate
- Manages incoming documents from the fax server
- Generates and types prescriptions from orders for pharmacist verification
- Follows up on outbound prescription transfers
- Clarifies patient demographic and clinical information needed to process prescriptions
