Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Active Texas Pharmacy Technician registration
  • Laboratory, healthcare, pharmacy, or related experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Must maintain an active Texas Pharmacy Technician registration
  • Must successfully complete all required pharmacy competencies within the first 90 days of employment

Nice To Haves

  • PTCB certification preferred; certification must be completed within one year of employment if not already certified
  • PTCB Certification or certification through the National Pharmacy Technician Association
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program
  • Home Infusion experience
  • Experience with CPR+ or CareTend software
  • Previous sterile compounding experience
  • Healthcare or pharmacy operations experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing prescription orders and medication preparation
  • Create labels, delivery tickets, and compounding documentation
  • Prepare, package, and distribute medications prescribed by physicians
  • Assemble patient supplies and equipment for infusion orders
  • Maintain the staging area used for clean room preparation activities
  • Calibrate infusion pumps according to established procedures
  • Assist with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and work order preparation
  • Maintain accurate and legally required records
  • Assist pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and clinical staff with pharmacy services
  • Monitor inventory and assist with inventory control procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy environment
  • Participate in patient evaluations when applicable
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new staff members
  • Complete paperwork and computer-related duties accurately and timely
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
