About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician III is responsible for providing pharmacy services, including dispensing, preparing, compounding, and delivering pharmaceuticals. This role involves performing inventory control, compliance audits, financial transactions, and customer service, as well as maintaining pharmacy records. The technician will be responsible for calculations, measurements, and compounding in accordance with USP and other best practice standards. They will work as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team under the direction of pharmacist leaders. Technical pharmacy tasks such as medication history collection, specialized medication handling, compounding, and processing will be performed. This role may also involve assisting in the onboarding and training of new staff under the guidance of Pharmacy Leadership. The position is designed to utilize and extend knowledge and competency while performing technical pharmacy functions within various pharmacy settings such as Ambulatory Pharmacy, Inpatient Pharmacy, Infusion Pharmacy, or Pharmaceutical Research Center.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Maryland Technician Registration or Maryland Pharmacy Intern Certificate or Pharmacy Student Technician Exemption Certificate is acceptable for students enrolled and in good standing at an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • 1 year of experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty experience preferred for specialty roles
  • National Certification (CPhT) preferred
