About The Position

As a Pharmacy Technician, you play an important part in safely delivering medications to patients who need them. You’ll work closely with licensed pharmacists to prepare, package, and distribute medications—both routine and specialized—helping ensure every patient receives the right treatment at the right time. This role is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and takes pride in supporting high-quality patient care behind the scenes. In this role, you’ll support day-to-day pharmacy operations and help keep everything running smoothly.

Requirements

  • National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT from National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Office of the Professions, State Education Department.
  • High school diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician experience.
  • Must maintain the required New York State registration and national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) as a condition of continued employment.
  • Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, compound, package, and label medications under pharmacist supervision
  • Assist with dispensing medications for patient prescriptions and treatment orders
  • Handle both hazardous and non-hazardous medications with care and accuracy
  • Support medication distribution across the organization
  • Help maintain inventory, ensuring medications are stocked and stored properly
  • Follow quality, safety, and compliance standards set by state and federal regulations
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient pharmacy workspace
  • Provide guidance and support to Pharmacy Assistants and team members when needed
