As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be a central figure in the pharmacy, providing essential support to pharmacists in dispensing medications, assisting patients, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role is vital for upholding medication safety, patient satisfaction, and efficient workflow. Daily tasks include processing prescriptions, meticulously entering patient information, accurately counting, pouring, and labeling medications, and managing inventory, all while adhering to strict regulations and policies. You will also assist patients, answer questions within your scope, manage prescriber communication, and maintain a clean environment, providing compassionate and efficient service. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication and customer service skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to accuracy, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering safe, patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or High School GED
  • 6 months compounding of IV medication
  • Pharmacy Technician certification in WA
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proactive approach and commitment to accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
  • Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day to day operations of the department.
  • Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels
  • Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.
  • Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation.
  • Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation including all regulatory and compliance requirements with required training and documentation. This may include preparation and handling of hazardous / chemotherapy medication if applicable.
  • Process prescriptions, meticulously enter patient information, accurately count, pour, and label medications, and manage inventory, ensuring adherence to strict regulations and policies.
  • Assist patients, answer questions within your scope, manage prescriber communication, and maintain a clean environment, providing compassionate and efficient service.
