Pharmacy Technician II (Onsite Specialty Outreach)
About The Position
Centene is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to join their Medical Management/Health Services team. This role is focused on Onsite Specialty Outreach, involving significant phone work (90% of the shift) and data entry. The technician will contact medical offices to clarify and enter prescriptions, contact patients to provide updates, support the Pharmacist callback queue, assist with pre-QA/data entry, and respond to email escalations. The position requires computer savviness, the ability to type at least 40 WPM, and staying current with required training. A background in specialty pharmacy, particularly with Infusion and/or Oncology, is highly preferred. The work location is 1311 W. Sam Houston Pkwy N. Houston, TX 77043, with a working shift of 9:30 AM - 6 PM (Central/CST).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office (i.e. biller, coder, office assistance, or prior authorization/certification) experience
- Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses
- Computer savvy; able to type at least 40 WPM
- State (Texas -TSBP) pharmacy technician license(s) relative to where the employee and assigned pharmacy are located

Responsibilities
- Work with the Pharmacists to accurately assist prescription orders in a timely manner
- Interact with various departments to provide accurately fill prescriptions on a timely basis
- Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist
- Maintain and update reports
- Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Contacting medical offices to clarify and enter prescriptions
- Contacting patients to provide updates on prescription outcomes
- Supporting the Pharmacist callback queue by helping obtain refills and prescription clarifications
- Assisting with pre-QA/data entry
- Responding to email escalations
- Staying current with required training
