About The Position

The Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center (HTC) is a specialized disease management center within the School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. It provides direct comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to 2000 patients with rare chronic bleeding and clotting disorders throughout a multiple state region. The unit is comprised of clinic services, laboratory services, pharmacy services, research services and patient support programs. The HTC operates a specialty pharmacy limited to serving the HTC patients with bleeding and clotting disorders, primarily providing hemophilia factor products and related medications throughout a multi-state area. The Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center (HTC) is an internationally renowned specialized disease management center for children and adults within the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The HTC provides direct, comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to over 3000 adult and pediatric patients with rare chronic bleeding and clotting disorders throughout a multiple-state region. The Center encompasses a freestanding School of Medicine clinic, a specialty pharmacy, research laboratories, clinical research services, professional training, patient education, and patient outreach and support programs.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Colorado license (or ability to obtain).
  • Two (2) years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Able to demonstrate good customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and attend to detail.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must successfully pass a 10-panel pre-employment drug screen.
  • This position requires the ability to lift, push/pull up to 50 lbs. with assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Previous experience in specialty or home infusion pharmacy.
  • Experience with pharmacy accreditation standards and reporting.
  • Previous experience working in 340B setting including inventory management.
  • Experience in reporting functions of Crystal Reports, pharmacy database software, specialty pharmacy care management system.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory records for high-cost bleeding disorder medications and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support patients with refill requests, pharmacy communications, and documentation updates.
  • Manage patient profiles, insurance information, and records in pharmacy systems and EMR.
  • Prepare, package, and coordinate medication and infusion supply orders for shipment or delivery.
  • Monitor shipments, resolve delivery issues, and reconcile shipping invoices.
  • Assist with nonsterile compounding, cleaning procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain patient care, dispensing, and operational records in electronic and paper systems.
  • Ensure pharmacy organization, cleanliness, and compliance with accreditation and safety standards.
  • Prepare operational, audit, and quality management reports using pharmacy software and Excel.
  • Support additional operational and administrative projects assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
