About The Position

This role involves performing various tasks to support the daily workflow of the pharmacy, ensuring the appropriate distribution of medications in compliance with state and federal laws, CSH policies, and established procedures. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will prepare and dispense prescribed medications, compound intravenous solutions, manage inventory, and handle charging and crediting functions related to drug distribution. You will maintain a clean and safe environment using proper aseptic techniques for patient safety. Responsibilities include precise handling of controlled substances, performing clerical and administrative tasks, and staying informed about departmental changes, CSH policies, and The Joint Commission requirements. Continuous professional development through educational modules and staff meetings is expected, along with staying updated on regulatory standards and facility protocols to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant pharmacy operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • 6 months compounding of IV medication
  • Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state in which the employee works, PHARMTECH:XX
  • Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing in the state in which the employee works as required by the state

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, distributes, and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
  • Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels while operating and maintaining automated medication delivery systems.
  • Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation.
  • Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation, including regulatory compliance and the handling of hazardous/chemotherapy medication as applicable.
  • Performs related duties as required.
