About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician I for our Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Princess Anne in Virginia Beach. The Pharmacy Technician I performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. This role participates in the training of new employees, ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care, and triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed. The technician will use appropriate systems for processing patient information, assume responsibility for assigned tasks related to pharmacy operations, and ensure quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements. Additionally, the technician will operate pharmacy equipment appropriately. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
  • Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
  • CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
  • 1 years of Pharmacy Technician experience (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high-pace/high-volume store with data entry and handling insurance adjudications (Preferred)
  • Familiar with managing inventory, cycle counts, and a good knowledge of handling the pharmacy queues to prioritize workflow (Preferred)
