About The Position

This is an entry-level Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern position at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, a nonprofit regional health care delivery network in Orange County, California. The role involves providing service to pharmacy customers, answering telephones, assembling floor stock medications, refilling Pyxis machines, transporting medications to and from nursing floors and departments, and pre-packing and labeling medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The position also includes performing floor stock inspections, timely and accurate delivery of controlled substances, Pyxis override and ED audits, preparing anesthesia drug trays and operation of the TraySafe system, preparing emergency drug trays and crash cart replenishments independently according to pharmacy law, and performing home medication information collection in the ED and on nursing units. The successful candidate will project an image of professionalism and maintain a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures.
