Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, this position will perform preparation, packaging, distribution, billing, and inventory management of medication. Responsibilities include communicating with pharmacists, nurses, patients, physicians, and other ancillary personnel, resolving problems within the scope of technician responsibilities, and referring issues outside of scope to pharmacists. The role supports pharmacy personnel by running fill lists, filling and delivering cassettes, filling and exchanging stock medication trays, returning discharge medications, restocking bins, running IV labels, filling and delivering IVs, processing charges, filing billing, pulling discharges, entering patient orders, filling department orders, checking stock, reordering, printing and distributing MARs, entering TCU/SNF charges, answering phones, and coordinating the training of new pharmacy technicians.
