About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician I performs technical functions involved in the medication use process. The technician assists the Pharmacist with preparing and compounding pharmaceutical products, assessing Pharmacy product inventory, and resolving insurance claim problems during dispensing. Additional duties within the scope of the role may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active ALBOP Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
• Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
• Strong team leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and proficient computer skills.
• Proven track record of successful performance.
• Ability to understand complex, multifactor situations and develop appropriate solutions.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Competence with pharmacy systems and related technology and equipment for the practice setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist to prepare and compound pharmaceutical products.
• Assess inventory of Pharmacy products.
• Resolve problems with insurance claims during the dispensing function.
• Perform technical functions involved in the medication use process.
• Complete additional duties within the scope of the role as assigned.
