About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Home Infusion Care Coordinator. This role is based at the Chesapeake Home Care Services Office and is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with no weekends. The shift is a Day Shift from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. The Pharmacy Technician performs clinical pharmacy care delivery responsibilities under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
  • CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
  • 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required)
  • A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

Nice To Haves

  • Strong Customer Service skills (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently in defined areas of pharmacy practice competently
  • Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced clinical job positions
  • Participates in the training of new employees
  • Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
  • Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
  • Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
  • Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
  • Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
  • Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
  • Participates in clinical initiatives to continuously improve patient care
  • Training in an advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician job function
  • Other duties may be assigned
