About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician - Fulfillment is responsible for preparing and labeling prescriptions. This includes counting, weighing, measuring, and pouring prescription medication or stock legend drugs and controlled substances, as well as filling an automated medication system. The role involves utilizing the pharmacy's adjudication platform to enter required information for legal prescription verification by a Pharmacist, maintaining compliance with all applicable State Board of Pharmacy, local, state, and federal requirements. The technician will communicate with prescribers, customers, and other staff to complete prescriptions, and assist the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing medications and supplies. They will arrange work activities to meet customer pharmaceutical needs, answer phones, respond to questions, and refer complex medication information inquiries to appropriate staff. Additionally, the role includes verifying data entry, maintaining records, and checking inventory for out-of-date products, removing them, and working with the appropriate resources to record them.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in pharmacy environment
  • Valid Registered Pharmacy Technician required

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certificate preferred.
  • Experience with pharmacy adjudication platform.
  • Experience in dispensing pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy terminology strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Verifying data entry information.
  • Maintaining records by recording and filling physician's orders and prescriptions.
  • Checking medications and administration supply inventory for out of date products, removing products from inventory and working with the appropriate resource to record out of date products.
