About The Position

Become a part of our caring community CenterWell Pharmacy, formerly known as Humana Pharmacy, offers unpaid Pharmacy Technician Externships for AZ College students who are currently enrolled in their Pharmacy Technician program. During your time with CenterWell, extern students will rotate through various Pharmacy stations within a mail-order pharmacy setting and work alongside Pharmacy Technicians under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. Role Responsibilities: Work in a mail order distribution center in a non-customer facing role Fill Rx medications with automation technology Checks all orders for accuracy and completeness of information Assist Pharmacists in the safe distribution of medications and the provision of pharmaceutical care Ensure inventory levels are adequate for dispensing by working with inventory supply team Calculates correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents Shadowing opportunities with various departments Use your skills to make an impact Additional Information: This is a temporary unpaid position to meet AZ College's Pharmacy Technician program requirements of 160 externship hours. Location: This is an onsite position located in Phoenix, AZ. Schedule: The hours of operation are Monday–Friday 5:30AM–4:00PM. Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a required Pharmacy Technician certification/degree program that is affiliated with AZ College
  • AZ Technician in Training license
  • Must complete and pass Humana's background check and drug screen
  • Must adhere to attendance policy

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • National Pharmacy Certification – CPhT
  • Warehouse experience
