About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician & Delivery Support position plays an important role in supporting pharmacy operations and helping ensure patients have convenient access to their medications. This position assists with prescription processing, medication preparation, inventory management, patient service, and other daily pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. In addition to traditional Pharmacy Technician responsibilities, this role provides prescription delivery services to patient homes, Family Circle of Care locations, and other approved destinations throughout our service area. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, patient-focused, and comfortable balancing responsibilities within the pharmacy with independent local prescription deliveries.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Texas State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacy Technician certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets Family Circle of Care's vehicle insurance eligibility requirements required.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, pharmaceutical terminology, and medication safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while completing assigned delivery routes.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish fluency strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and accurately enter prescription and patient information into pharmacy systems.
  • Prepare, label, package, and organize prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Assist with medication inventory, including receiving, restocking, cycle counts, stock rotation, returns, and monitoring expired or recalled products.
  • Support compliance with 340B program requirements and established pharmacy procedures.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients and team members.
  • Answer phones and assist with appropriate pharmacy-related questions and patient coordination.
  • Utilize Epic and pharmacy management systems for documentation and communication.
  • Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process patient payments.
  • Safely deliver prescriptions to patient homes, FCC locations, and other approved delivery destinations.
  • Verify patient and delivery information and obtain required proof of delivery.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and medication security throughout the delivery process.
  • Ensure medications, including temperature-sensitive medications, are transported and stored appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and documentation of completed or unsuccessful deliveries.
  • Plan efficient delivery routes and communicate delays, patient concerns, or delivery issues to pharmacy staff.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of vehicles used for pharmacy deliveries.
  • When not completing deliveries, assist with Pharmacy Technician duties and support overall pharmacy workflow.
  • Maintain compliance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy requirements and Family Circle of Care policies and procedures.
