About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician – Clinical assists pharmacists in the provision of professional pharmacy services in GHC-SCW clinics. The Pharmacy Technician - Clinical works under the general guidance and daily supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist and the Clinical Pharmacist Program Manager.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- Pharmacy experience is required.
- Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and use computer based applications such as MS Office, pharmacy and electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to use or learn to use computers for order entry, inventory control, billing and record keeping.
- Knowledge of medical records and appropriate documentation requirements.
- Knowledge of basic math and algebra.
- Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and consult with patients, practitioners and internal staff.
- Ability to speak and listen in person and on the phone.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with a diverse patient population and workforce.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and problem solve.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the provision of professional pharmacy services in GHC-SCW clinics.
- Maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards.
- Handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Adhere to department and position’s punctuality and attendance standards.
- Provide own transportation to various work locations, as needed.
