About The Position
As the Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in selection and preparation of medications for physician orders, stocking supplies, maintaining a clean work environment, correctly delivering medications, and assuring medication barcodes are scanned correctly. You will report to the Director.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician license or willingness to undergo Phase I Technician training and obtain pharmacy technician license within 30 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Order, verify receipt of, and store pharmaceuticals and supplies using generic, brand names and warehouse index numbers.
- Check incoming stock orders, complete receiving reports, ascertain damage, overage or shortage and complete reports.
- Assist pharmacist in providing medication, drug information and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel.
- Perform monthly inspections of clinic care areas to check for outdated pharmaceuticals, proper storage conditions and appropriate stock levels.
- Inventory control tasks including monitoring, pricing, dating, invoicing, stocking, and preparation of purchase orders.
- Maintain supplies of working stock in the outpatient pharmacy to complete requisitions.
- Rotate stock in pharmacy and on nursing units to assure maximum usage of dated stock.
- Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.
