About The Position

This position involves assisting Pharmacists in filling and dispensing prescriptions for customers. The role includes customer service at the counter, managing patient records and inventory, processing invoices, and performing accounting entries using a computerized system. A high level of member service is expected.

Requirements

• Certified Pharmacy Technician
• Open availability is needed to meet the needs of the business.
• Must provide proof of authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assists customers at the counter, receives written prescriptions for Pharmacists, and retrieves filled prescriptions.
• Rings up orders, receives payment, makes change, and processes checks, credit and debit charges.
• Assists Pharmacists in updating patient profiles and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer, to the extent allowable by State law.
• Preserves patient confidentiality.
• Answers phones and provides prompt and courteous member service, including answering questions at pharmacy windows and directing members to product locations.
• Assists Pharmacists in filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, re-stocking, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under direct Pharmacist’s supervision.
• Prepares third-party insurance claims, to the extent allowable by State law.
• Processes invoices and makes accounting entries using a computerized system.
• Orders, receives, tags, and stocks prescription drugs and supplies, following product storage procedures and standards.
• Orders, receives, tags, and stocks over-the-counter products in accordance with merchandising plans for the department.
• Creates product signs.
• Cleans the department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting.
• Empties trash and operates a trash compactor and cardboard baler.
• Follows security and safety procedures, including securing the department by appropriately storing or disposing of confidential documents and by using proper disposal methods for immunization supplies and hazardous waste.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
• Assists with department duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
