As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the complex and personalized medication needs of patients. This involves meticulously processing and dispensing specialty medication prescriptions, including sterile compounding, along with managing inventory and performing crucial administrative and financial tasks. You will also expertly communicate with patients regarding their therapy, dosage, and delivery schedules, and assist pharmacists with patient follow-up and clinical documentation. To excel in this role, you must possess exceptional organizational skills, a strong ability to navigate complex insurance and patient support programs, and an unwavering commitment to patient advocacy.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state in which you’ll work
  • Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing in the state in which you’ll work
  • 6 months experience compounding of IV medication
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical patient care best practices and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of basic pharmaceutical mathematics and financial functions
  • Strong phone, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with office equipment and ability to learn new software/database systems
  • Ability to prepare and compound various medications, including intravenous admixtures
  • Ability to apply pharmacy standards and procedures, including I.V. admixture and automated systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and establish positive working relationships
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong ability to navigate complex insurance and patient support programs
  • Unwavering commitment to patient advocacy

Responsibilities

  • Meticulously process and dispense specialty medication prescriptions, including sterile compounding
  • Manage inventory
