Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Acceptance into CHAS Health Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program required.
  • Washington locations must have valid licensure as a Pharmacy Assistant upon program start.
  • Idaho locations must have valid licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in Training upon program start.
  • Excellent customer service, oral and written communications skills required.
  • Compassion for patients required.
  • Must be able to work well in team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced work environment, with ability to anticipate future needs.
  • Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Medical terminology and accurate spelling ability required.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance required for float positions.

Responsibilities

  • Completes duties of a CHAS Health Pharmacy Assistant.
  • Shadows a CHAS Health Pharmacy Technician.
  • Completes PTCB coursework and follows all requirements of the program.
  • Reconstitutes pharmaceutical drugs, fills bottles with prescribed medication, and completes labels for bottles.
  • Accepts phone calls to/from pharmacy regarding prescription refills by number, pricing information, provider refill requests, business hours, availability of goods and services, etc.
  • Places, receives, unpacks, and stores incoming supplies and drug orders.
  • Processes prescriptions dispensed to patient, computes charges, and enters data in computer utilizing pharmacy and health center software systems.
  • Requests refills on behalf of patient to appropriate provider.
  • Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
