The Pharmacy Technician – Ambulatory supports the outpatient pharmacy located on the second floor of the Crile Building, a high-volume community pharmacy that processes approximately 500 to 800 prescriptions each day. In this role, caregivers rotate through a variety of responsibilities that support efficient pharmacy operations and exceptional patient service. Duties include assisting patients at the register, processing and filling prescriptions, managing inventory and medication stock, supporting prescription workflow activities, and collaborating with pharmacists and fellow technicians to ensure accurate, timely medication dispensing. This position offers a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with exposure to multiple aspects of outpatient pharmacy operations while helping deliver a positive patient experience. This is a part-time role. A caregiver in this position works 8 hour shifts rotating between 7:45am and 4:15pm or 9:45am and 6:15pm with required working days on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP).
  • Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within 18 months from the date of hire.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.
  • Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.
  • Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.
  • Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items.
  • Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.
  • Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products.
  • Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.
