About The Position

The UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician 2 - Mail Order Services (Eastside Specialty Center Pharmacy, Bellevue). This position performs non-professional/technical tasks related to the management for mail order patients served by the Outpatient Pharmacies and Specialty Pharmacy Program. The role acts as a liaison between patients and pharmacy staff to ensure effective communication regarding mail order services. All activities shall be performed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. This position is located at the UW Medicine Eastside Specialty Center in Bellevue.

Requirements

Six (6) months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician 1 or equivalent education/experience
State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification

Responsibilities

Function as primary mail order technician for Outpatient Pharmacy patients enrolled in the mail order program.
Confirm that patients are eligible for mail order and confirm that all required enrollment forms are completed and filed accurately.
Ensure that patients enrolled in the program are re-enrolled annually.
Enter, fill, and prepare for verification all mail order medication prescriptions using the Etreby system.
Maintain appropriate inventory of medications for mail order patients.
Work with Program Operations Specialist and Billing technician 2 when issues arise in regards to mail order patient’s third-party payer plans and/or rejections.
Understand and follow all shipping guidelines for contracted mail order services.
Order and maintain all supplies needed for mail order program.
Contact patients for correct payment and address information.
Serve as primary contact and resolve all issues in regards to delivery issues, missed deliveries, or patient complaints.
Educate pharmacy staff about mail order program and billing policies and procedures.
Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician 1.
