About The Position

As a Pharmacy Service Tech, you are responsible for all requests placed on the Pharmacy Line, including recording pertinent information in the patient's chart and completion of all necessary paperwork. You will assist in the delivery of primary healthcare and patient care management as required. This role also has the ability to double as a Medical Assistant and perform MA duties.

Medical Assistant or Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
Computer experience
CPT Certification
ICD9, CPT, HCPCS Coding

Responsibilities

Responsible for all messages on Pharmacy Line, including pulling patient charts and clarifying medicine dosage, last refill date. Also verifies if the patient is active within the last two years, and if the patient is not active, is responsible for mailing an appointment reminder.
Calling all refills back to pharmacies and posting information in the patient’s chart.
Filling out and following up on prescription authorization forms.
Involves direct communication with physicians when the medication dose or availability through the insurance formulary is in question.
Handling all refill requests generated through the Rx2000 Software.
Arranging samples for patients
Coordinating and problem-solving with any issue related to prescriptions.
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Uses oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas in a clear, positive manner that is consistent with the Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists (ACS) Mission.
Maintains established ACS policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
Cross-training as needed
