About The Position

Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician work involves inventory management, preparing medications for a pharmacist final check, delivering medications to patient areas, conducting medication area inspections, providing technical assistance, and performing clerical duties. Provides guidance to others as needed. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment within the boundaries allowed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Responsible for adhering to standards of professional, legal, and ethical practice and all applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and/or guidelines of the hospital, HHSC and Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).

Requirements

Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
Experience in pharmaceutical assistance work
Will ensure Contract Office has a current license registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy license at all times while providing services at the Facility.
Must be available for nine consecutive days of training, M-F 8-5

Nice To Haves

Experience in Pyxis MedStation System preferred
Experience with medication room inspections preferred
Experience with manual and automated medication repackaging preferred
