About The Position
Processes member purchases by operating cash registers, maintaining merchandise presentation, and managing the pharmacy area according to company policies. Monitors and resolves issues in the prescription fulfillment process, promotes the pharmacy's professional reputation, and provides patient-member service. Enters prescription data into pharmacy software, fills prescriptions, and assists members during prescription pickup. Completes work assignments by prioritizing tasks, collaborating with others, and adapting to change. Complies with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, fostering a culture of respect and integrity. The role involves serving customers by delivering results, making informed decisions, and striving for excellence through continuous improvement and learning.
Requirements
- Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
Responsibilities
- Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
- Maintains merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged goods, setting up displays, and signing/pricing merchandise.
- Maintains the Pharmacy area in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process.
- Promotes the Pharmacys professional reputation and provides patients-members with pharmacy products and services.
- Provides patient-member service in the Pharmacy area.
- Enters prescription data into pharmacy software.
- Fills prescriptions by retrieving prescription orders, counting, pouring, measuring, or weighing medication, mixing or reconstituting medications, selecting, filling, and labeling prescription containers, and operating scanning equipment or automated dispensing systems.
- Provides member assistance during prescription pickup.
- Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
