About The Position

This position is responsible for processing member purchases, maintaining merchandise presentation in the pharmacy, and ensuring the pharmacy area is kept in accordance with company policies. The role involves monitoring and resolving issues in the prescription fulfillment process, promoting the pharmacy's professional reputation, and providing excellent patient/member service. Key duties include entering prescription data into pharmacy software, filling prescriptions accurately, and assisting members during prescription pickup while adhering to all legal and company policies.

Requirements

  • Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TaSCO system for prescription pickup verification and sales logging.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
  • Experience with automated dispensing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
  • Maintains merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking, rotating, and organizing merchandise and supplies.
  • Removes damaged or out-of-date goods and sets up, cleans, and organizes product displays.
  • Monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process, including processing third-party insurance claims and alerting patients to stock issues.
  • Promotes the Pharmacy's professional reputation and provides patients/members with pharmacy products and services in accordance with laws and policies.
  • Assists the pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process.
  • Enters prescription data into pharmacy software by reading prescriptions and transcribing relevant information.
  • Fills prescriptions by retrieving orders, counting, pouring, measuring, mixing, and labeling medications.
  • Provides member assistance during prescription pickup by verifying information, retrieving prescriptions, and gathering necessary signatures.
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, and collaborating with others.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
