About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Tech assists in providing pharmaceutical care to various customers by verifying medication packaging processes and outcomes. The technician practices within the scope of state and federal regulations and must be licensed by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy. This is a PRN position with rotating, mixed shifts consisting of a variety of 10-hour shifts based on availability. More hours are available during orientation.

Requirements

Must be licensed as a Pharmacy Technician with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to create and foster a cooperative teamwork environment.
Ability to adapt readily to institutional roles and schedules.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
Assist the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, including material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
Ensure accurate documentation of services and supplies provided to patients.
Participate in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities.
Understand limitations on the responsibilities of a registered technician in dispensing medications and remain within the scope of practice.
Transport medications to patient rooms or nursing medication rooms and retrieve unused medications from patient rooms or nursing areas.
Communicate effectively and foster a cooperative teamwork environment.
Adapt to institutional roles and schedules.
