The Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of the pharmacist and within all regulatory rules governing pharmaceutical services, provides for complete pharmaceutical services to the facility. This position will specialize in Prior Authorizations and will work closely with pharmacies, physicians, insurance companies and patients to obtain approvals for prescriptions requiring prior authorization. Other duties include assisting with other pharmacy tasks as needed.

Requirements

High School graduate, or equivalent.
Current Pharmacy technician registration
Current Tennessee Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
Previous experience in hospital pharmacy
Working knowledge of Joint Commission Standards, and state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
Previous experience with Omnicell
Previous experience with Prior Authorizations

Responsibilities
