About The Position

New pharmaceutical distribution warehouse for Northwestern Medicine. Hours: 40 hours/week. Schedule: Currently this is day shift hours, but as time goes on, the center will be extending hours into the evening and will require flexibility to work variable shifts. The Procurement Operations (Supply Chain) Pharmacy Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR)
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or NHA required for all licensed after 2008 (within 6 months of hire or sooner if required by IL pharmacy practice act)
Must have functional speech, vision, and hearing
Will be exposed to chemical hazards; therefore, must have the ability to wear protective clothing as needed

Nice To Haves

1 year experience in a micro fulfillment or mail order pharmacy

Responsibilities

Ensures fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions in an automated central fill pharmacy in order to maintain a continuous and consistent workflow to meet daily production and quality goals by using the scanner to identify and select pharmaceutical product and quantity for prescription orders.
Utilize automated repackaging system for unit dose from bulk product; maintain label requirements of each unit dose, expiration date management, and storage requirements maintenance.
