About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a pharmacy technician to assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and supplies, receiving, sorting, and stocking medications and supplies. This role also involves billing and crediting medications to patients. The hospital is an acute care facility serving the communities in and around Sunnyvale, Texas, and is located minutes east of Dallas and south of Garland/Rowlett on Hwy 80 at Collins Road. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required
1 year of experience as hospital tech required
CPhT and Texas Registered required
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Basic computer knowledge required.

Nice To Haves

College preferred.
2 years preferred experience.
IV Certified preferred.
Additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepares IV mixtures according to established procedures.
Picks up orders and medications for return from patient care areas.
Checks areas of responsibility for outdated medications and adequate levels of stock.
Maintains a good working relationship with other departments.
Fills patient medication drawers and unit dose medication orders.
Fills automated dispensing machines and other unit supplies.
Makes deliveries to patient care areas.
Enters charges and credits.
Unpacks and stocks orders.
Prepackages bulk medication to unit dose or IV bulk products to syringes.
Communicates effectively with coworkers to ensure understanding of customer needs and activities.
Frequently offers assistance to others in need.
Actively participates in team meetings and often offers suggestions on how to improve the services provided.
