The Pharmacy Tech Level 1 practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care. The position supports pharmacy operations by retrieving, processing, labeling, and stocking prescription medications; handling insurance claims and related paperwork; ordering prescription medication; promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services; prioritizing workload; communicating effectively; maintaining a clean, orderly, professional pharmacy; and protecting patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Enter customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stock prescription medication.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
• Prioritize workload.
• Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintain the confidentiality of patient information.
