Pharmacy Tech III
About The Position
The individual in this position will assist in preparing, packaging, delivering, and charging of medication orders, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Position duties include the following activities: fill and label medications, stock medications into pharmacy inventory, restock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications, deliver medications to patient care areas, attend to medication requests and phone calls, prepare IV sterile admixture solutions and IV products. This will also include advanced compounding of chemotherapy and TPNs, assist in Pharmacy quality assurance activities, train and educate pharmacy technicians on department and hospital policies and procedures, quality assurance, and performance improvement processes, comply and assure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet and hospital policies and procedures, assist pharmacists and Supervisors in performing various duties as assigned, and serve as a resource for pharmacy drug distribution functions. Abrazo West Campus is recognized for providing exceptional, comprehensive care to patients in West Valley communities. The 200-bed acute care hospital offers advanced services, including the da Vinci Xi surgical platform, Level I Trauma Center, Loop-X system, orthopedics, obstetrics and cardiovascular care.
Requirements
- Assisting in preparing, packaging, delivering, and charging of medication orders, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Filling and labeling medications.
- Stocking medications into pharmacy inventory.

- Maintaining adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications.
- Delivering medications to patient care areas.
- Attending to medication requests and phone calls.

- Performing advanced compounding of chemotherapy and TPNs.
- Assisting in Pharmacy quality assurance activities.
- Training and educating pharmacy technicians on department and hospital policies and procedures, quality assurance, and performance improvement processes.
- Complying and assuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet and hospital policies and procedures.
