About The Position
As our Pharmacy Technician you will help our Pharmacists so they can ensure the appropriate distribution of medications in compliance with state and federal laws and in accordance with CSH policies and procedures. Every day you will prepare and dispense prescribed medications for patients. You will be expected to perform compounding of intravenous medications, assist in managing inventory, perform charging and crediting functions for medications associated with the distribution process, and perform routine clerical/administrative tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Oregon State Pharm Tech license
- Six (6) months experience with compounding IV medication
Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescribed medications for patients.
- Perform compounding of intravenous medications.
- Assist in managing inventory.
- Perform charging and crediting functions for medications associated with the distribution process.
- Perform routine clerical/administrative tasks.
- Operate and maintain automated medication delivery systems and devices.
- Participate in department quality assurance programs and maintain quality assurance documentation.
- Be trained and certified in IV admixture preparations, including all regulatory and compliance requirements with required training and documentation.
- Possible preparation and handling of hazardous/chemotherapy medication.
