About The Position

The Lead Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacy management via regulatory/compliance leadership, training support, competencies, recordkeeping, etc. Serves as department safety liaison. This position assures that pharmacy services comply with policies and procedures of the pharmacy department and state/federal regulations. The Lead Technician should be familiar with all stages of medication use (i.e., purchasing, storage, borrowing/loaning, charging/crediting, dispensing, returns, administration, and disposal) and regulations. Must be competent in general pharmacy operations, IV room, pharmacy automation, narcotic processing and reporting, EPIC processing, records retention & filing, and data analytics/reports. The Lead Technician – Compliance executes competencies for sterile preparation areas, so leadership and embodiment of high standards in the IV room are a must. Must have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – and be a self-motivated learner.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent required.
  • TCT completion is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year in CCMC Central pharmacy and gained knowledge in advanced areas.
  • Knowledge of math, the metric system, pharmaceutical chemistry, and medical terminology is essential.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Texas Pharmacy Intern License.
  • ACPE IV certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of computers and demonstrable skills with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferred.
