About The Position

This position is responsible for processing member purchases, maintaining merchandise presentation, and ensuring the pharmacy area is in accordance with company policies. The role involves monitoring and resolving issues in the prescription fulfillment process, promoting the pharmacy's professional reputation, and providing excellent patient/member service. Key duties include entering prescription data, filling prescriptions accurately, and assisting members during prescription pickup. The associate will also complete work assignments by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with others, and adapting to change. This role emphasizes integrity, customer service, and continuous improvement, aligning with Walmart's values and goals.

Requirements

• Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.

Responsibilities

• Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
• Maintains merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking, rotating, and organizing merchandise and displays.
• Maintains the Pharmacy area in accordance with company policies and procedures, including handling claims and returns.
• Monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process, including processing third-party insurance claims and alerting patients to stock issues.
• Promotes the Pharmacy's professional reputation and provides products and services in accordance with laws and policies.
• Provides patient/member service in the Pharmacy area, including assisting with prescription orders and purchases.
• Enters prescription data into pharmacy software by reading prescriptions and translating information into system codes.
• Fills prescriptions by counting, pouring, measuring, or weighing medication, mixing or reconstituting medications, and labeling containers.
• Provides member assistance during prescription pickup by verifying information, scanning security tags, and gathering signatures.
• Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with others, and adapting to change.
• Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
